Back to work on my minis!!!
The arm and hand are now feeling well enough to do some work on my minis and my dollhouse!!! Unfortunately, the dollhouse has captured my attention right now, so my hands are being diverted away from polyclay food, over to painting porch railing! Yaay, I am very close to erecting the walls!!! So excited, I just can't wait!
Upcoming project: Dollhouse cover
Apollo, one of my two cats, loves to play with and lay on all things related to my minis.....Thus, cat hair is EVERYWHERE!!! Check out the glaring cat hair in my coconut pies I made.........LOLOLOL! So, I moved the construction of my dollhouse to our back porch, where it is now covered by a dusty layer of tree pollen! DOH! Solution - The moment I get the walls and roof erected I will be taking measurements so that I can sew a cover for the house. I plan on using a few Velcro tabs as closures (cat-proofing). THEN, I can move the dollhouse into my living space! Of course, I plan of seeking out the cutest, funkiest, retro-est (is that even a word?) material I can find... I think I'll start at Mary Jo's Cloth Store in Gastonia, which is only about a 30 minute drive from where I live. I tell you the truth, this store must have the largest selection of fabric and notions on earth! It is soooo much fun to spend hours (seriously) just walking around, dreaming of what this or that fabric should become! BUT, take cash only, because if you take a credit card, you will get into t.r.o.u.b.l.e....... I think I will search that store for some fabric to cover my pet snake's cage stand, which is ugly black metal......
Back to minis.... I posted some new pictures of my minis up my Flickr account. See the yellow cake? I made the Birdday (haha) Cake for my BFF, Angie. Her birthday is today so she's not yet seen it. I would have liked it MUCH better if, 1) I'd left it alone with only the bird on top, and 2) I'd cut my dang fingernails before I made it! - there are tiny half-moon nail marks on it, which, of course, I did not notice until I had already baked it.....DOH! Honest comments on the minis is always appreciated, by the way!!!
OOH, before I scoot off of here, I will be cleaning up the antique, wall-hanging room box that my Grandfather made.. He won a blue ribbon for it in the Union County fair, I think in 1931. I have the ribbon somewhere with the date on it. Anyway, I will be cleaning it up, tightening up the wiring so it lights up again, and will try to post a pic or two..... I bet you'll like it! It has been hanging on the wall in my family's houses since it was made - oh if it could talk!!!
=)I'm off to work on, you guessed it, more minis!!!!
