So... very..... disappointed!
I am very disappointed!!! My fiancee finally found the time to help me assemble my dollhouse, but...
Lesson for future: NEVER store anything made of MDF (or wood!) in a humid environment! My building workstation is on my 3 season porch. The weather here (foothills of NC) has been crazy - cool and clear one day, hot and stormy the next, and sometimes all four in the same day! My porch is not air conditioned, so I guess the humidity made the walls and floors of my dollhouse swell. They will just NOT fit together!!! Have tried sanding the grooves, but no avail. Test fitting worked, but it never occurred to me to keep the parts in low humidity!
I have placed the parts on my kitchen table, wrapped in a sheet. Air conditioner is on, and I will keep it on for as long as it takes to shrink things back down. If it doesn't work, I will just sand the heck out of the grooves until they do! Grrrrrrrr....... It never occurred to me......! DOH!
