Lovely workshop at Market Harborough

July 17th, 2011

We have just spent two brilliant days over in Market Harborough at a workshop organised by Janet Groome. Friendly people, nice surroundings, laughs and chatter - what more could you ask for ?

Met up with our friend Christine from Little Trimmings who treated me to a glorious, sticky toffee pudding (yes, with ice cream) on Saturday evening.

Many thanks to Jean Sharpe who was kind enough to bring her incredible, fully decorated 1/12th caravan over for people to have a look at.

Missing time !

March 31st, 2011

Can't work out where February went and now March is quickly disappearing.

Our new online workshop with Minis4all starts tomorrow.   The workshop is for a 1/12th mahogany smokers bow chair and you can see all of the  details here

There are regular workshops being held through Minis4all with each one running for a month.  You can join at any time throughout the month and work at your own pace with a tutor at the other end of an email to answer any queries.

January 2011

January 6th, 2011

Christmas and New Year celebrations now over and done with.  All the chocolate and shortbread, cakes and sweets eaten and well and truly stored on the hips !

Spent the "holiday" time catching up on some work and B made up a new item - a 1/12th folding chair.  Want to have a look ?  Click here for pictures

We have an online workshop coming up in April with Minis4all and we are doing a 1/12th scale rocking horse.   Have got the kits cut and now have to produce step by step photographs.

What a smell !

December 5th, 2010

Slightly different to our usual makings, B has made a simple garage for grandson Jamie for Christmas.  Made it, painted it and then decided that it needed a protective coating of varnish because Jamie is only 3 and won't be gentle when playing with the garage.  So, off we went to B&Q and bought a can of Plasti-Kote clear varnish.  The garage looks great but there isn't one room in the house where you can breathe without tasting the varnish..... guess we will have to go visit the daughter until the smell goes away.

Middle of November already !

November 22nd, 2010

Finally got four of our new 1/12th scale chairs polished today and have posted a picture of them in the icklebits gallery.

Next on the agenda - remake of our rocking horse kit and get the photographs done for an online workshop with Minis4all in April.  We have done our first two online workshops this year and very much enjoyed the experience.
